When I was young, we always attended the Thanksgiving weekend parade in downtown Pittsburgh. We went with another family, always standing in the same place and having lunch afterward. This year the route was different, due to construction, but it was just as fun, despite the chilliness (that I almost let keep us from going.) I'm so glad we went!

i'm confused...are you in pittsburgh or boston?? what a fun parade...totally different from the rose parade that ca hosts on new years day!
