Well, will you look at that! It's day 15; we're half way through our month of study together. I know from Facebook and real live conversations that some of you following along regularly. Walking Humbly with God is Really Quite Simple
I promised to give you some tips today on how to walk humbly with God. Guess what! I've written about it before here at Life in the Valley, back in 2011. So I'm going to direct you here, to a reflection on how Cornelius walked humbly with God. What's super cool, is that the post you'll find there ends with Micah 6:8! I love it when a plan comes together. :)
The 'Means of Grace'
The writers of the Westminster Confession talked about some things called "the means of grace," means by which we can access and get to know God and be changed by Him. Do you know what they are? The Word, prayer, and the sacraments (baptism and communion). Walking humbly with God is really quite simple. Not always easy and takes discipline, like training for and running in a marathon, but simple - anyone can grow in grace and walk humbly with God, because He has given us all access to Him through these simple means, day by day. Will we take advantage? Will we read our Bibles, talk with (and listen to) God in prayer, will we get our bodies into a local congregation for public worship, teaching, and the celebration of the sacraments? Will we, those who profess faith, walk humbly with our God?
Yes! Let's!! For our good Creator and Redeemer has revealed Himself and His requirements to us. How wonderful, how glorious!
